Location: Lexington, MA (on-site)
Summary: Enyuare, a small design firm, is seeking a Principal / Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership and perform excellent product design for a small team doing varied cutting-edge robotics, sensor networks, aerospace and industrial applications. Strong product design experience is required for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor earlier-career mechanical engineers
- Design review mechanical engineering designs from other team members
- Design mechanical assemblies for actuation
- Design fluidics handling systems
- Design sensor and component mounts
- Design environmental enclosures
- Perform thermal analysis
- Define interfaces between parts and assemblies
- Perform Product Design-for-X (Manufacturability, Maintainability, Sustainability, et cetera)
- Source components
- Interface with manufacturers and vendors
- Hands-on with assisting with implementation
- Collaborate with team on system requirements
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues
- Document designs with production-level documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and toolsa
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract regulations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (not required initially).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of robotic systems
- Demonstrated technical leadership
- Strong experience and background in practical industrial applications
- Understanding of material properties such as stress / strain
- Proficiency with thermal and fluidics analysis
- Experience with change management and associated documentation
- Strong desire to learn new skills and abilities
- Excellent verbal communication and written documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with robotics platforms and systems
- Proficient with OnShape CAD tool
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation, actuators and sensors
- Understanding of control systems
